MC Fletch

In the course of a diverse 20-year career in all aspects of DJing, music production and radio hosting, George Fletcher aka “Fletch” has proven to be a skilled entertainer, visionary music director and an adroit motivator for thousands. Fletch is a multi-talented artist who has wowed club goers across the country and gained the respect of his peers with his diverse, but distinctive, blend of popular music. Stemming from his classical upbringing, his musical tastes range from Mozart to Metallica and Mos Def and through incredible skills and his intense work ethic, Fletch has risen from humble beginnings to become a recognized name Nationwide.
In 1996, Fletch joined the team at Chum Group Radio Ottawa . Starting as a soundboard operator, he quickly climbed the ranks to host/produce a syndicated music program. In addition to his presence on the FM dial, Fletch could be heard regularly on News Talk Radio 580 CFRA hosting his own talk-show and seen on Rogers Cable as the entertainment reporter for “ Daytime ”. Beyond the walls of the clubs, radio and television stations, Fletch acted as a motivational speaker to teens, volunteered at an Ottawa Youth Center and taught Audio Engineering in Montreal . It was this connection between teaching and working with teens that encouraged him to supplement his formal qualifications by completing a Masters degree in Education.
Without leaving his passion for radio behind, Fletch joined the team at 91.5 The Beat for their launch in '04 while securing employment with the Waterloo Region District School Board. For the '06-'07 school year, he could be seen teaching Media Studies and Economics at Eastwood Collegiate by day, Civics and Careers at Cameron Heights by night, heard as the “Weekend Guy” on The Beat and playing at various clubs in KW, Brantford, Guelph, Ottawa and Montreal.
With talents across the entertainment and educational spectrum, Fletch is probably best known for his people skills. While some try to pigeonhole him, Fletch's “true calling” remains indefinable. He has the rare ability to refreshingly combine his passion for music, politics and personalities with his own unique flavour. |

Dean Bridgewater
(388x428).jpg)
|
Dean Bridgewater… gospel and R& B artist; and radio enthusiast; migrated to Canada from London , England at 20 years of age. He lived in St. Kitts, Nevis West Indies and since the age of two, followed his grandmother to church and played the bongos. (This is where the passion for music was instilled.)
Dean's love for music prompted a quantum leap after arriving to Canada (where he gave his heart to the Lord) when he heard gospel artists. Dean knew that he had to be a part of it, somehow. He began listening to their music, adopting their musical standards and collecting gospel music for himself. Before 1990, he knew nothing about contemporary Black Gospel, he used to sing reggae, but what you see and hear now is a result of God teaching and anointing him to interpret and play (bass). Song writing only developed in the last ten years. Dean now shares the gospel through the airwaves, while simultaneously, creates a forum where Black gospel music in Canada can expand. He can be heard on 94.3 FAITH FM on Saturdays at 5-7 pm playing Black gospel music.
His career achievements include: Local talent search award winner Faith FM ‘Shinin-Star' talent search, Shai Awards (formerly, ‘Vibe') – Aspiring artist showcase- May 2004 (runner up), 91.5 The Beat Talent contest—Finalist- 2004. |

RUFUS
“ The Reason ” LIVE CD Release Tour
|
|
(306x408).jpg)
R ufus brings a new approach to legendary old soul music. He has combined the best of both worlds; the edginess of today's age music and the heartfelt emotion of Motown and molded them together. The outcome is a never-heard before, fresh and funky fusion of sounds over an old school backdrop.
His 2006 debut EP entitled “ The Reason ” is very special to him. Besides being his first completed independent project, the title track, “The Reason” is a heartfelt ode to his mother based on the relationship she endured while raising three children on her own.
‘Sex on the Beach,' the first single released off his debut EP (December 2006), won the 2006 Rhythm of the Future radio talent competition presented by Kitchener-Waterloo's 91.5FM (CKBT) The Beat.

In 1994, Wendell Claxton took an interest in Steelpan. Being from the Caribbean, it seemed a natural choice for him to bring the music of the Caribbean to his life in Canada . During this time, a friend mentioned to him that a Trinidadian Steelpan group in London Ont. taught complimentary pan lessons on Sunday mornings. The timing was perfect, and Wendell loaded up his kids, Chauntay and Andre, and headed to London for 3 months of lessons.
Sometime later, his youngest daughter, Jenneisa joined the band. The Starlite Steelband was formed in 1997. Their first album entitled “Sweet and Simple” was made in 2005.
In 2006, Wendell contacted the Victoria Hills Community Centre to offer steelpan lessons at no charge. This was a means of continuing the gesture of appreciation that he received from the Steelpan band in London . Nirala, Richard and Jordon were dedicated students at this event and decided to join Starlite Steelband in 2006.
Currently, Starlite Steelband plays all over Ontario at events ranging from private parties to City parades. Their songs include: Spanish Eyes, Tiney Winey, It's Carnival, Never on a Sunday and many more.

Titus

|
Titus is not your average hip hop artist. Most hip hop artists aren’t concerned with inspiring their listeners or painting a picture of hope for the future, but this seems to be where Titus shines and connects with his audience. Imagine an artist with the passion of a Tupac combined with catchy hooks and a lyrical content that comes from his own personal experiences. That would be crazy, right?! Well, that sums up Titus.

Young Brickz
|
Tait Young Brickz Townsend was born gifted, creative and intelligent. Growing up in a less musical family, Young Brickz had a knack for music, reciting lines and dance moves from Michael Jackson. Growing up wasn't much of a challenge with the help of his beloved parents showing him how to drive on the Road to Success. He was influenced by the great sounds of Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac, and Nas and was inspired to write his own lyrics by the age of eleven.
From being the Shy Guy to the Fly Guy, Brickz has been pushing himself to become one of the best this country has seen yet. Now at the age of 17, this young emcee is equipped with a semi-cocky, rich flow to keep his audience hungry and his critics silenced.
With todays commercialized rap, Brickz feels that the rap game is lacking major lyrical talent and feels that he truly is what the game's been missing. His dream is to become a famous artist/entertainer, and plans to pursue an education that will help him achieve his other dream of becoming a record producer.
